The Tokyo International Airport

Commonly called Haneda Airport, the Tokyo International Airport is one of the airports in the Greater Tokyo Area. Just a small piece of land serving as an airport complex, it officially opened in year 1931. It was taken over by the US forces in 1945 and named Haneda Army Air Base. It was only in 1958 when they have totally returned the entire base to Japan. This airport handles only two international flights which are services to Gimpo International Airport of South Korea and Hongqiao International Airport of Shanghai. Do not be deceived that even though it handles only two international flights, it is one of the busiest airports with a record of 65.3M passenger in the year 2006.
