Most attractive to the nature lovers, it spread over 52.3 hectares. The park is home to a range of animal and insect species and has the proud distinction of being the birthplace of the African elephant Mao.

The park has successfully recreated a naturalistic habitat and it is a pleasure to watch the inhabitant's blossom in this vast ecological wonderland.

The different ecological areas that are the Asian Garden, African Garden, Australian Garden and Insectariums are home to magnificent animals like the Amur Tigers and the Red Kangaroos.

It was ranked in a magazine poll as the most popular must visit zoo in Japan. The zoo's efforts to create innovative wildlife enclosures attract more visitors.

In the eastern part of the Asiatic Garden, exhibits display Japanese animals such as sika deer, Yezo brown bear, Japanese macaques and Japanese serows. Asiatic elephants, Indian rhinoceroses, Malayan tapirs, tigers and lesser pandas are exhibited in the western part of the Asiatic Garden.
