Tokyu Hands

It is the largest hardware store in Japan. Tokyo Hands is a paradise for do it yourself fans. There is everything that you will require, from lumber of cut to different sizes, bathroom curtains, sofa beds, garden pots and a whole array of electrical fittings.

The store is well organized and user friendly. The staff is helpful. Goods can be delivered for a reasonable fee.

They have 3 outlets in Tokyo. The oldest, most congested, and best stocked outlet is Tokyo Hands Shibuya. However Tokyo Hands Shinjuku store is much newer, bigger and better for your health.

Tokyo Hands diverse in conditions of product, stationary, hardware, interior stuff, junk, homeware, car, bike, etc.

There is a complete woodworking shop to get your timber cut and planed. You can buy off cuts of raw materials, rubber, plastics, wood, metals etc.

A printed store guide is available in English. Plenty of weird and wacky products can be found here. It is an enormous department store for the younger, hipper crowd than the more traditional Isetan, Takashimaya and other chains.
