This bookshop brags the collection of books pertaining to the literature and social movements of the 1960- 70's. This store gives you a chance to go back to the era when there was harsh social flux.

The books like The Beat Movement, The Black Power Movement, Women's Liberation Movement, drugs, hippies and Woodstock all belong to that power packed generation.

They stock the books by authors like William S. Burroughs, Tim Leary and the copies of which are impossible to find any where else.

The Cow Books, surely one of the best bookstores in Tokyo. They've actually become sort of a chain, with a main shop in the hip Nakameguro district as well as smaller shop on the premises of the stylish Dragonfly Cafe in Aoyama.

They even have a mobile book shop. The main store especially is striking, with a large table for browsing and an LED display that surrounds the room. They sell out of print books focusing 1960- 70s social movements, progressive politics, Protest, the Beat Generation and first editions of forgotten modern authors.

Hours: Noon- 9p; Thu- Tue.
