Summer Sonic

The Summer Sonic Festival is a two day Japanese festival in an urban setting. The festival offers a wide range of Asian, European, and American acts.

This music festival is held annually in Tokyo's Chiba Marine Stadium and at Makuhari Messe. It is held in August for two days and energizes the city and brings out the screaming rock fans.

Bands featured here include Slipknot, Primal Scream, Rancid, Marilyn Manson, and Air.

Creative man's Mistuhiro Kato says that, with a tighter focus on rock than Smash's more varied lineup, the festival is "more like Reading or Leeds, if Fuji Rock is Glastonbury."

Summer Sonic feature a selection of bands well- known in Japan, but also introduce a host of new talent.
