Club 251

Club 251 at Daizawa in Tokyo, is surely a hot address for Tokyo swingers. With its plush yet casual interiors, this cool fun pub is clearly a one- stop happening place for the city's movers and shakers.

The tunes played by the bands are usually love songs sung over light punk/hard rock melodies. The club has the capacity of over 400. Club 251 is a reasonably comfortable venue that features some of the best stars in the field of 'non- genre' Japanese rock. One of the great things about Club 251 is the very friendly atmosphere. There is no food on offer but beer and a full range of cocktails are available.

Inside of Club 251 is dark, smokey and has an uneven, beer soaked floor. The stage has a full PA. Japanese clubs have a backline ready- drums and amps; in this case there are Marshall, Fender, and Vox amps at the ready.

The musicians usually just bring their guitars and effects. This is because everybody uses the subways to get around, so it would be a huge pain to haul amps.
