Birdland takes you to the journey to Tokyo circa 1950 the time when big band Jazz blared from the Armed Forces radio and Hawaiian music cover acts toured the nation. The bar is resides in the basement.

The club is set up 25 years back. Birdland has hosted some of the biggest names in jazz, including Oscar Peterson and Art Blakey. It seats between 80 and 100.

It is open seven nights a week from 7p to midnight. Some of the best local musicians as well as visiting foreign stars regularly appear at this venue. Birdland serves pretty good food and the full range of drinks to accompany both the food and the music.

On every Monday the Birdland's stage transforms into a Hawaiian beach party complete with hula dancers and ukulele.

Birdland appear to have escaped the ravages of time as much as Ohta- san, a youthful radiant woman dolled up in a colorful dress and a lei garland of flowers. The comfortable chairs, dim lights and piano bar contribute to a uniquely memorable evening of entertainment.

Hours: 5:30pm to 2am daily, closed Thursdays.
