It has nearly 5,000 pieces from the 20th century are housed in this striking museum building designed by Kenzo Tange. The photographers, surrealists and artists with ties to Yokohama are well represented here.

The amenities are also includes a museum shop, art library, lecture hall and a French restaurant. The hall in the museum is often used for new art projects and cultural events providing superb acoustics and atmosphere.

"YMA Classic Live" is held from 2 to 2:30pm every Saturday when special exhibitions are held.

The art gallery is a small gallery that holds a series of exhibitions which feature young foreign artists. The gallery also provides the opportunity to exhibit the works by students of Citizens' Workshop on completion of each course. Free of Charge.
Special workshops for the children include Multipurpose Studio, Craft Studio and A.V. Studio.

Opening hours: 10: 00 - 18: 00 (last admission at 17:30), admission: Adults: 500 (400) yen, High School or College Students: 300 (240) yen, Middle School Students: 100 (80) yen, Elementary School Students: Free
