Bridgestone Museum of Art

The Museum wants to widen the range of its collecting activities and its exhibitions to cover a greater variety of periods and regions. The Museum also plans to engage more with contemporary movements in the art world.

It is opened in the year 1952. The Bridgestone Museum of Art has regularly added the collection. It has held exhibitions on a wide variety of themes, organized lectures and education programs and published art- related texts.

This develops mutual understanding among people of different cultures and helps foster a society that appreciates the true value of art. The Bridgestone Museum of Art has a collection of around 1,600 works of art, chiefly Impressionists, Post- Impressionists and twentieth- century art.

The museum houses 130 works of Cezanne, Picasso and Renoir. It also collects and exhibits modern European art, as well as Japanese western- style art from the Meiji era.

Opening Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 - 20:00; Sunday, Holidays 10:00 - 18:00

Tickets: Adults 800 yen; Students 600 yen
