Tourists and locals alike should avoid car hire in Tokyo like the plague. Car parking is overly expensive, streets are incredibly narrow, and often times roadways are not properly labeled. One would think that Tokyo is difficult to get around because of its poor automobile infrastructure, fortunately this is not the case. Tokyo has one of the best public transportation systems in the world allowing people to get from place to place quickly and affordably. A combination of buses, faeries, trains, and subways literally blanket the entire city. Another option is the ever popular bicycle if you feel like a little bit of travel independence.
